WLTD Writing Camp №2 — Paris, July 2026
The second WLTD writing camp ran in Paris in July 2026, following the first in February.
Paris — July 2026. The second WLTD Entertainment writing camp ran this month, five months after the first.
What changed
Everything the February camp taught, and the weather.
The first camp was an experiment with a format. The second was run by people who had already done it once and knew which parts to keep — longer sessions, fewer rooms, and no attempt to schedule the collisions that had produced the best work last time. You cannot timetable those. You can only leave enough unstructured hours for them to happen in.
July in Paris
The city empties in July, which makes it an unusually good place to work. Everyone who is still here is here on purpose. Sessions ran late because there was no reason for them not to, and the building stayed warm long after anyone sensible had gone home.
The same two people in the middle
Simon Rosenfeld and Myla are both working songwriters as well as recording artists, and both write in the room rather than supervising it. That is the part outside participants tend to comment on — the label's own writers are not hosting, they are working.
Twice a year, for now
Two camps in one year was not a plan so much as a consequence: the first one produced enough to make the second obvious. Whether that becomes a rhythm depends on what this one turns into over the next few months.
