WLTD Writing Camp №1 — Paris, February 2026

The first WLTD writing camp brought writers, producers and composers into Paris for a week of sessions with the label's own writers.

Paris — February 2026. The first WLTD Entertainment writing camp ran in Paris this month.

The idea, plainly

Get writers, producers and composers who would not otherwise be in a room together into one, for long enough that something happens. Add WLTD's own two writers — Simon Rosenfeld and Myla — and let the week do the work.

That is the whole format. There is no brief, no target, and no client waiting at the end of it.

February in Paris

It is not the obvious month. The light is thin, the afternoons end early, and nobody is outside for longer than they have to be — which turns out to be the point. A writing camp in July competes with the city. A writing camp in February does not.

Rooms ran in parallel and people moved between them. Some pairings were made deliberately, some happened over coffee at the wrong end of a corridor. The sessions that worked tended not to be the ones anyone predicted.

What comes out of it

Songs, and a catalogue that is bigger at the end of the week than at the start. Some are pitched onward to other artists; some are kept for WLTD's own. Which is which is a decision for later — during the week, nobody is thinking about it.

The second and less obvious output is the room itself. Producers spend most of their working lives alone with a screen. A week of not doing that changes how people write for months afterwards.

Coming into France, writing outward

The camps are deliberately not French-only. Bringing writers into Paris from across Europe, and sending the results anywhere they land, is the same shape as the rest of the label's work — where French artists have found their largest audiences a long way from France.

Participants accept that WLTD uses their likeness in behind-the-scenes content on social media.

The second camp followed in July.
