One year on — Rosenfeld is still unwell, and still writing
A year into his hiatus Rosenfeld remains unwell, but has confirmed he is working on a new song, with the intention of releasing it before the end of the year.
Paris — 31 March 2025. A year to the day since Rosenfeld stepped back from releasing and performing, the position has not changed as quickly as anyone hoped. He remains unwell.
That is the honest headline, and there is no point dressing it up. But it is not the whole of it.
He has been writing
Rosenfeld has confirmed that he is working on a new song, and that he intends to release it before the end of the year.
It is the first new material he has spoken about publicly since Blood & Porcelain, and it exists for a specific reason: the audience did not go anywhere. Through a year with no releases, no shows and almost no public appearances, the catalogue kept moving. Do It For Me and Like U — both Platinum-certified by SNEP — kept finding listeners who had never heard of the album that preceded them.
He has been clear that the new song is for those people.
Working the only way available
What has not stopped is the work itself. Rosenfeld writes, produces, mixes and masters alone, which means the studio is one of the few parts of his practice that does not require him to be anywhere in particular, on anyone else's schedule. A record can be built slowly, in the hours that are available, and then left alone again.
That is how this one is being made.
The label in the meantime
WLTD Entertainment has kept going. Over the same twelve months Myla released new music through Parlophone France, was featured again by SNEP, and continued to build an audience well outside France — work Rosenfeld has continued to produce for from the studio.
The songwriting camps have continued. The catalogue has continued.
No release date is being announced today, and none will be until the song is finished and he is well enough to stand behind it. But there is one, and it is being written.
