The Blood & Porcelain short film, shot on 35mm
WLTD Entertainment produced a privately funded short film on 35mm to accompany Blood & Porcelain, released publicly as three music videos.
Paris — 13 February 2024. Tonight, at the Blood & Porcelain release party, WLTD Entertainment screened the short film made to accompany Rosenfeld's album.
Production began in January 2023. It is written and co-directed by Rosenfeld, privately funded at €100,000, and shot on 35mm film.
Why film
Nobody shoots 35mm for convenience. It is slower, costlier and unforgiving — you cannot check the take, you cannot fix it later, and every roll has a running cost that makes a fourth attempt a decision rather than a reflex.
That constraint is the reason for it. Blood & Porcelain is a record about things that cannot be undone, made by someone who writes, produces, mixes and masters alone and therefore never has to commit to anything until he chooses to. Film takes that option away. What ends up on the negative is what happened in the room.
Three parts, three videos
The film is built in three parts, and each is released publicly as a music video:
Watched separately they work as videos. Watched in sequence they are one piece, and the order matters.
Shown once
The complete film, with bonus footage, was shown a single time — tonight, the evening before the album comes out.
It has never been released publicly, and there are no plans to. Everyone who has seen the whole thing was in that room. What the public has is the three videos, which is a different object made from the same negative.
